The Sodexo “Unity” cafeteria at UPC in Barcelona offers a “complete menu” for 6.60 Euros that includes a starter, main, drink, bread and desert. You could typically choose between three different starters and main courses, mixing and matching.
The common vegetables were potatoes and artichokes. Ham, bacon and fish were the relatively common meats.
Below are photos of the ten meals I ate.
Grilled fish, french fries, and kale.
Artichoke soup with ham strips, eggs, cheese and ham with french fries, and a steamed apple. (Potatoes and ham are a reoccurring theme.)
Grilled fish, french fries, and a pinapple and shrimp pizza as a starter, along with a small slice of St. Joan cake.
Artichoke hearts and carrots, grilled fish and potatoes, and St. Joan cake again.
This was my least favorite meal. I apparently chose poorly. The salmon steak was fine, but I didn’t like the taste of the beans and peas that came with it. I don’t remember exactly what the rice dish was…but I do remember not finding it terribly appealing.
Grilled fish and vegetables, and a pizza with tuna meat as one of the primary toppings.
Pizza, along with ham and broccoli, and a yogurt and fruit cup.
Grilled fish with green beans, chocolate cake, and tuna and ham pizza.
Fish and vegetables with rice, and a starter of stuff red peppers.
This “splash of seafood” salad was my favorite starter, along with grilled fish and carrots. The dessert was a triangular piece of cheese combined with a thick dried pear puree.
